The PMAssist x MasterKey Scholarship began with a clarification and a choice.
As part of our partnership with Crane, it was never our intention, nor Crane’s, for members who were already paying for the PMAssist Substack to continue paying twice for the same access.
(A quick housekeeping note: we are actively working to end individual subscriptions for Crane members whose access is now included, so there will be no duplication moving forward. 🙏🏼)
When Robert Dell’Osso of MasterKey Property Management reached out to confirm whether he still needed to maintain his subscription, the answer was a simple no. What happened next was unexpected. Instead of moving on, Robert asked whether that subscription could be used to help another property manager.
Robert was the first person to raise the question, and the way he approached it was genuinely moving. 💜 As a long-time PMAssist subscriber and client prior to that, his and Cheryl’s instinct to turn clarity into generosity felt like the right moment to build something lasting rather than treat it as a one-off gesture.
The Foundational Conversation
That conversation became the foundation for what we are now calling The PMAssist x MasterKey Scholarship, an annual program that awards three property management professionals with a FULL year of access to the paid edition of our PMAssist Substack.
This scholarship exists because access matters, and because the best partnerships create space for thoughtful decisions that put the industry first.
Partnerships only work when they are built on trust and aligned intent, and we are grateful to Peter Lohmann and Wolfgang Croskey for their partnership with us and for amplifying our content through their Crane community. Their openness, clarity, and commitment to doing right by their members created the space for this conversation to happen in the first place.
Applications for the PMAssist x MasterKey Scholarship are now open. This is an annual, qualification-based program designed for property management professionals who are actively building, refining, or scaling their businesses and would benefit from deeper access to the work we share each week through the PMAssist Substack. Who Can Apply
Applicants must:
Be actively involved in residential property management
Be an owner, operator, or decision-maker within their organization
Be in a growth, transition, or system-building phase
Be able to clearly explain how access to the PMAssist Substack would support their business right now
Nomination Option
Applicants may nominate themselves or another property manager
